Education & Career Guidance Workshop for Students Singapore
Your school journey so far has been preparing you for something. Most students just don't know what yet.
Every subject studied, every CCA joined, every challenge faced in school has been building something in you — a set of interests, strengths, values and experiences that make you who you are. The question is: do you know how to present that to the world?
At Leaven Academy, our Education and Career Guidance workshops help students in Singapore do exactly that. We help them connect the dots between who they are today and who they want to become — and give them the practical skills to take that next step with confidence.
It's Not Just About Getting In. It's About Showing Up as Yourself.
The most common mistake students make when preparing for interviews, applications or their first job is trying to be what they think the other party wants to see, rather than presenting the best, most authentic version of who they actually are.
Our workshops help students understand that genuine self-presentation is not just more honest, it is more effective. When a student walks into a DSA interview, a JAE application process, or a job interview knowing exactly who they are, what they offer, and how they can contribute positively to that school or organisation, they stand out. Not because they performed well. But because they showed up fully as themselves.
We also help students understand the world they are stepping into. Singapore's job market is constantly shifting. The roles that exist today will look different in five years. The most important thing a young person can develop, beyond any specific skill, is a genuine desire to keep learning, stay adaptable, and grow continuously throughout their career.
What Our ECG Workshops Cover
Every workshop is customised to your school's cohort, level and specific transition goals. Our modules cover the full range of skills students need to present themselves confidently at every stage:
Interview Skills
Students learn how to prepare for and perform confidently in interviews, whether for DSA, JAE, polytechnic admissions, university applications, or job placements. This includes how to research the organisation they are applying to, how to structure their answers clearly, and how to communicate their strengths and experiences in a way that is both authentic and compelling.
Resume Writing
A resume is often the first impression a student makes on a potential school or employer. Students learn how to craft a resume that honestly and powerfully represents who they are, their achievements, experiences, CCAs and aspirations, in a format that is clear, professional and tailored to the opportunity they are pursuing.
Social Etiquette
Professional environments have unwritten rules, and students who understand them have a significant advantage. This module covers workplace and social etiquette, from how to introduce yourself confidently, to how to conduct yourself in formal settings, group interviews, and professional networking situations.
Personal Grooming
First impressions are formed in seconds. Students learn how to present themselves appropriately and professionally for different contexts, from school admission interviews to internship and job applications, understanding that personal presentation is an extension of personal branding, not a superficial afterthought.
The Right Programme for Every Transition
Singapore students face several major transition points where ECG skills become critical. Our workshops are designed to support students at each of these moments:
(Direct School Admission) preparation: helping students articulate their strengths, experiences and aspirations clearly in portfolios and interviews for their target secondary schools or JCs
JAE (Joint Admissions Exercise) preparation: supporting students in presenting themselves confidently as they navigate post-secondary options
Secondary 3, 4 and 5 students: building career awareness, self-knowledge and practical application skills ahead of major transitions
JC1 and JC2 students: preparing for university applications and the leap into adult professional life
ITE and polytechnic students: developing workplace readiness, professional presentation and job search skills for internships and full-time employment
Flexible Formats for Your School's Needs
Our ECG programmes are available as:
Half-day workshops (3–4 hours): focused, practical sessions timed to your school's key transition periods
Multi-session programmes (e.g. 3 x 2-hour sessions): progressive skill-building across a semester
Fully customised formats: designed around your school's ECG calendar, cohort size and specific student development goals.
All sessions are facilitated by experienced Leaven Academy trainers using experiential activities, real-world scenarios and structured reflection frameworks.
