Study Skills Workshop for Students Singapore
Most students don't have a studying problem. They have a motivation problem.
They are told to study harder. To do it for their parents. To do it for their future. But when the motivation comes from outside, from pressure, expectations and fear of disappointing others, it rarely lasts long enough to make a real difference.
At Leaven Academy, our Study Skills workshops start somewhere different. Before we talk about how to study, we help students discover why they want to, on their own terms.
Everyone Wants to Do Well. Not Everyone Knows What "Well" Means for Them.
One of the most important things we believe at Leaven Academy is this: every student inherently wants to do well. The challenge is that not every student wants to do well academically — and that is okay.
Some students have goals that lie in sports, in the arts, in entrepreneurship, in trades, in technology. Our job is not to force every student into the same academic mould. It is to help them discover what their true goals are — and then show them how academic effort today can become a genuine stepping stone towards the future they actually want.
When a student studies because they see a real connection between their effort today and their goal tomorrow, everything changes. That is the shift we design for.
What Our Study Skills Workshops Cover
Every workshop is customised to your school's cohort and objectives. Our modules give students the practical tools to study smarter, grounded in a foundation of genuine internal motivation:
Goal Setting
Before students can study effectively, they need something worth studying for. This module helps students identify their personal goals, academic and beyond, and construct a clear, meaningful connection between their daily study effort and the future they are working towards. Students leave with a personal goal framework that is theirs, not their parents' or teachers'.
Time Management
With clear goals in place, students learn how to structure their time in a way that is realistic, sustainable and aligned with their priorities. This module covers practical time management strategies for managing school workload, revision schedules, and the competing demands of CCA, family and personal life, without burning out.
Designed for Graduating Cohorts at Critical Academic Moments
Our Study Skills workshops are primarily delivered to graduating cohorts — the students who need it most, at the moment it matters most:
Secondary 4 and 5 students: preparing for O Levels, building focus, motivation and study strategies for their most important academic year
JC2 students: managing the intensity of A Level preparation with clear goals, structured time management and sustainable study habits
ITE and polytechnic students: developing the self-directed learning skills needed to succeed in a less structured academic environment
All content is fully customised to the cohort's level, timeline and specific academic pressures.
Flexible Formats for Your School's Needs
Our Study Skills programmes are available as:
Half-day workshops (3–4 hours): focused, high-impact sessions timed to your school's academic calendar
Multi-session programmes (e.g. 3 x 2-hour sessions): progressive development across a term, building from motivation and goals through to practical study strategies
Fully customised formats: designed around your school's timetable, cohort size and examination schedule
All sessions are facilitated by experienced Leaven Academy trainers using experiential activities, personal reflection frameworks and practical goal-setting tools.
