Workshops for Teachers and School Staff

Teachers spend their days helping students work with one another. They rarely get time to look at how they work with each other.

Our staff workshops give teachers, Education Officers and school administration teams a few hours to understand their own working style and their colleagues', in a session that is hands-on from the start.

DISC Profiling for Teachers and School Staff

DISC describes four patterns of behaviour: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. In a school, those patterns show up in staff meetings, in level and department teams, in co-teaching and in how colleagues respond under pressure.

A personal DISC report for every participant

Each participant completes an online DISC profile and receives a detailed individual report, which the coach explains during the session.

Activities, not a lecture

Teachers learn the way their students learn best: by doing. Activities show, before any theory, how differently people in the same room see the same thing and approach the same task. As one teacher put it afterwards: "I liked the hands on activities as they allowed me to see how my colleagues respond in different situations."

Working better with colleagues

The session moves from understanding yourself to understanding the people you work with: how each style communicates, what each needs from a conversation, and how a team can use its mix of styles instead of clashing over it.

What a Staff DISC Workshop Looks Like

At one primary school, 74 teachers and Education Officers took part in a half-day DISC workshop in June 2025, and the school's administration team followed with its own session that December. The school wrote afterwards that the Education Officers "had an engaging experience learning about one another's DISC profiles and understanding how best to communicate and collaborate with one another".

Why Leaven Works With Teachers

Leaven Academy trains students and advises schools through their teachers. Teachers are the ones who carry the work forward in school long after a workshop ends, so we design staff sessions with the same care as our student programmes.

Questions Schools Ask About Staff Workshops

Can the same workshop be run for teachers and for students?

Yes, as separate sessions. Many schools start with staff so teachers can use DISC language with their students. See our DISC workshop for students.

How large a group can attend?

From a single team to a whole teaching staff. We plan the number of coaches to the group size.

Can you design a staff session on another topic?

Talk to us about what your staff need. We will tell you honestly whether it is something we can deliver well.
